Two Adults Killed and Two Children Injured in Wrong-Way Crash

Police said two people were killed and two children were injured in a wrong-way crash in Kaufman County, Tuesday, March 14th.

One Chevy pickup was traveling the wrong way on FM Road 741 and crashed into another Ford pickup near Blackland road.

“Preliminary investigation does indicate that his lights were off,” Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Kyle Bradford said. “Basically, we do know that he was driving [in the] northbound lane without his lights.”

Both the drivers of the Ford and the Chevy trucks were killed in the head-on collision that happened that night.

There were two children traveling as passengers in the back seats of the Ford. Both were taken to Children’s Medical Center of Dallas — one by ground and the other by air — with injuries that police said were not life-threatening.

The road was closed into the early morning hours the next day as police continued to survey the wrong-way crash scene.

A crash where there are no injuries is a nuisance, but a crash with injuries and fatalities is a tragedy. The loss of life within a family may be difficult on several levels. The emotional level that the pain and suffering causes can be tough for people. Depression and other negative thoughts might overtake a person’s mentality and cause them to act like a different person around the house or at work. Everyone may deal with grief in a different way, but one thing may be certain: It hurts to unexpectedly lose a family member. Other ways that a person could feel the burden of a lost loved one could be financially. Missing income can lead to piled up bills, overdue payments, and collection harassments.
