A particularly nasty storm can deal a lot of damage to an area rather quickly. This huge spike in damages to properties can come with its own set of problems. If an area is hit hard by a storm and lots of homes are damaged, the insurance companies may begin to worry about their bottom line. They may employ tactics like telling you to seek help from the government agencies like FEMA before they get involved. They could just offer unfair low settlement offers in hopes that you will accept. Insurance companies may flat out ignore claim requests and give you the runaround.
