Pregnant Woman Hit by Train During Photo Shoot

The mother of a newly pregnant young woman that died says her daughter was killed when she was struck by a train during a photo shoot on the tracks in an attempt to further advance her desire to become a model.

Hakamie Stevenson told The Eagle newspaper that her daughter, Fredzania Thompson, had decided to put her education on hold to try and pursue a career as a professional model.

Authorities say the photographer was taking pictures of Thompson between two sets of tracks Friday in Navasota (about 60 miles northwest of Houston) when a BNSF Railway train approached.

Thompson saw the train that was approaching and moved out of its way, however she did no notice that another train was coming in the other direction and she was struck by the second train. Her family said that she was engaged and that she had just recently found out that she was pregnant.

The photographer was not hurt during the photo shoot.
