1 Shop, 2 Fires

According to KXAN, a Pflugerville tire shop has caught fire for the second time in two weeks. Close to 3 pm on Saturday, firefighters responded to GCR Tires and Service. Photos and a video posted by the Austin Fire Department did not show visible smoke or flame during the second fire. In the previous fire, black smoke could be seen for miles, and nearby homes had been evacuated as a precaution. There is no word on what has caused either fire or if they are even related.

Pflugerville is a small community of less than 17,000 people. That a fire at this location has happened twice within such a short time frame is curious. For the second time in just as many weeks, the tire shop in Pflugerville caught fire Saturday afternoon. At about 2:53 p.m., firefighters from the Pflugerville and Austin fire departments responded to GCR Tires and Service in the 2900 block of West Pecan Street in Pflugerville.Photos and a video posted by the Austin Fire Department on Twitter did not show any visible smoke or flames. In the previous fire on July 6, black smoke could be seen billowing into the sky for miles. Nearby homes were evacuated during that fire as a precautionary measure.

There’s no word yet what caused today’s fire or if it’s related to the one a few weeks ago.

Fires can destroy much more than just a home. It can and does destroy many places of business as well, like the fire in this case. Tires are infamous for causing some of the most difficult fires to extinguish.  This certainly appears to be true, at least in the instance of the first fire, where many were evacuated for safety’s sake. The fact that this business has caught fire twice in a short period of time is a very sad state of affairs for the owners of the small business in a small urban area in Texas.  Even with what might be considered adequate insurance, this still adds up to to a catastrophic loss for these small business owners. It can also cause a major financial and physical burden on the owner of the homes in the area as well as the business. Times like these call for some help. Contact our law firm today for a free consultation. Let us help you in your time of need.
