5 Burglaries in the Same Store in Less than 2 Weeks

According to MySA, Albert Herrera, 25, was arrested in connection with five burglaries in less than two weeks. He faces two charges of burglary and one theft charge for breaking into the San Antonio Dollar General store. He broke into the store the five different times by smashing a window with a rock starting June 24 through July 5. At least once, he was seen selling cigarettes and cigars that he had taken from the store in a trash bag. Police were able to connect Herrera to one of the burglaries by fingerprints left at the scene and security camera footage. Herrera is also accused of stealing electronic items from a relative’s home. The relative told police that they thought that he is homeless and addicted to heroin.

Work Related Injuries

It’s interesting to think about how many times in a row the suspect allegedly broke into the store. The one good thing about the situation is that even though there were many consecutive break-ins, they didn’t seem to involve anyone getting hurt. When it comes to working in a retail store, theft and robberies are always a concern for the company. Most companies have a certain amount of safeguards in place. For instance, the registers may only have a certain amount of money in them at all times and if the money goes over the amount, they place the extra in a safe that most employees don’t know the combination. Even for people in other lines of work than retail, there are dangers for them too, like falls, heavy machinery, and toxins/chemicals.
