BIOGRAPHY

Whether deposing an expert, handling a hearing involving a complicated legal issue, trying a case or drafting an appellate brief, Ryan’s aptitude for detail-oriented legal thinking, polished writing, and passionate legal argument enable him to assist anyone in need of a strong advocate for their rights.

Ryan primarily concentrates on Personal Injury & Wrongful Death lawsuits, which can include everything from motor vehicle accidents to construction incidents, slip/fall matters, and even dog-bite cases. He focuses on complex legal research, drafting, and oral argument relating to both pre-trial and appellate issues.

“TRUTH FEARS NO TRIAL.” – THOMAS FULLER.

Ryan has been admitted to the State Bar of Texas, the District of Columbia, U.S. District Court – Western District of Texas, and the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit. He is also a member of the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.

Ryan earned his Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, in 2001, from St. Mary’s University School of Law, graduating in the top 2% of his class. During law school, he served as a Research Assistant for Professor Demleitner as well as a Torts Course Tutor for Professor (later, Dean) Cantu. Ryan also became a member of the John M. Harlan Society honoring scholastic legal achievement, and of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity, Tarlton Inn.

He began his legal career in 2001 practicing commercial litigation in San Antonio, Texas. A detour into Virginia allowed Ryan to secure his second state law license for the District of Columbia in 2006. Ryan returned home to Texas and continued his career focusing on an insurance litigation docket.

Ryan’s interest in the law began when he joined his high school mock trial team, to help him overcome a fear of public speaking. After graduating from high school, Ryan continued his education at the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1997. While attending college, Ryan continued to pursue his interest in the law by becoming a member of the mock trial team, which placed fourth in the national Gold Flight Mock Trial Competition in 1994.

Ryan joined KRW Lawyers in 2014, bringing with him his many years of experience and a unique analytical legal perspective.
