Hospice Administrator Guilty of Murder

mySA reports that a jury has found a former South Texas hospice administrator guilty of capital murder for killing an elderly McAllen man to gain access to his money and estate. Monica Melissa Patterson, 50, the daughter of Hector “Tito” Palacios, a former Hidalgo County Precinct 2 Commissioner and former Mayor of San Juan, was convicted Wednesday in the asphyxiation death of Martin Knell, 96. The state decided not to seek the death penalty in the case, so the conviction carries an automatic life sentence without parole. Teenager Cheerleader Dies, Cause Unknown

In a mySA news report, Texas Rangers are investigating the death of a Trinity University cheerleader. The Texas Rangers were called in to investigate Mandadi’s death at the request of authorities in Luling and Caldwell County. Guadalupe County Sheriff Arnold Zwicke said his understanding is that Mandadi was in a vehicle that was traveling between San Antonio and Houston Sunday, Oct. 29, when someone in the vehicle noticed she was not breathing, so they took her to the Seton Edgar B. Man Shot Leaving South Side Bar

KSAT12– A man was shot in the face after leaving a South Side bar early Monday morning. Witnesses reported someone in a gray colored Chevy Silverado pickup, possibly in their 20’s, fired the shots just before 2:30 a.m. They said the victim had just left the Far West bar, located in the 2500 block of Pleasanton Road. He was hit by the gunfire in the parking lot. He was taken to University Hospital by ambulance and is in critical condition. Investigators have been questioning witnesses in the hope of finding out why the man was shot and who shot him.

Texas High School Cheerleader Found Dead

mySA.com reported that a 14-year-old Silsbee High School cheerleader was fatally shot Sunday while her family was out shopping. Young victim Tristan Dilley stayed home after claiming she was tired from a school dance the night before. When her family returned after their outing, “her mother hollered at her and when she didn’t answer, she told her brother to go upstairs and wake her up,” Jasper County Sheriff Mitchel Newman said. KENS5 reported that a four year veteran with the San Antonio police department was shot multiple times and is recovering from surgery. Officer Nathan Becerra was responding to a home invasion call in northwest San Antonio that came in just before midnight from an apartment complex on Ingram Road. According to the Houston Chronicles, local law enforcement officials confirmed that a suspected member of the brutal MS-13 gang who was wanted in connection with two area murders was apprehended early Saturday more than 1,400 miles from Houston. Robbery Setup Ends in Murder

According to KSAT, San Antonio police have caught up with three of the four people they believe are behind a May stabbing death outside of the popular Lulu’s Bakery & Cafe. Faith Barrientes, 17, Genie Rose Aguilar, 20, Johnny Estrada, 20, and Ruben Arellano, 21, have all been charged with murder. A 22-year-old San Antonio man was shot outside his home on the South Side Monday afternoon, according to news sources( ksat12.) The incident occurred just after 1 p.m. in the 100 block of West Vestal Place. In an NBC news report, the father of a missing 3-year-old girl was arrested Monday after voluntarily giving new answers to investigators’ questions about his daughter’s disappearance.
